Following a year and a half of 'blood, sweat and tears', we opened our new studio and gallery doors for business in February, 2004. Prior to this -for more than 10 years- we worked out of our basement (and garage, kitchen, guestroom, etc.). Needless to say, we're thrilled!
We're located in mid-coast Maine bordering a beautiful tidal saltwater marsh on Arrowsic Island, 10 minutes from historic Bath. The changing rhythms of the tides and seasons that direct the activities of the plants and animals on the island, guide our lives and work -our art- as well. For example, our newest work "Wild Impressions" was inspired by our woodland hikes. We've tried to capture some of the beauty of the wildflowers and plants we see there in the clay of our plates, bowls, ikebanas, marker boards and wall pockets.
2004 was a busy year ... what with getting the new studio and gallery fully 'up and running', doing summer/fall craft festivals, developing our new website, etc., etc. Oh yeah, and making pots too. We truly feel "renewed" by our wonderful new work space ... we hope this vigor is reflected in the pots we create for you! We're in the studio every day (unless we're at a SHOW) so the next time you're in mid-coast Maine, please visit us (MAP).
And for those times when you can't visit us, we've created our new and (we hope) user-friendly, on-line store/gallery. Please visit the store often when you're thinking about buying pottery or just want to see what's new in the gallery.

P.S. We also have a 2-bedroom cottage (850 sq.ft) on the property with a nice view of the salt water marsh that we rent by the week during the summer season. If you're interested you can see all the details at this URL http://www.mainecoastvacationrental.com |
